From 1 July 2026, North Coast Radiology Group will upload your imaging reports directly to My Health Record. Patients with a registered My Health Record will benefit automatically.
What is My Health Record?
My Health Record is an Australian Government initiative, a secure online summary of your health information. It brings together your medical conditions, allergies, medications, immunisations, and radiology reports, all in one place.
Healthcare providers, including your GP, specialists, and hospital clinicians, can access your record online, so you never have to repeat your health history or track down old results.

Frequently Asked Questions
To register for My Health Record, you must be 14 years or older, have the capacity to make decisions for yourself, and have an individual healthcare identifier (IHI), which you’ll already have if you’re enrolled in Medicare or listed on a Medicare or DVA card.
Only written reports will be uploaded by default. The images won’t be included, and will still be available via the Patient Results app.
X-ray reports for limbs (arms and legs) will be available to view in My Health Record or the 1800MEDICARE app as soon as they are uploaded. Other x-ray and diagnostic imaging reports (for example CT, MRI, and PET scans, mammograms, and ultrasounds) are viewable after five days, which gives your healthcare provider time to review the results and plan for your care.
My Health Record is protected by strict Australian Government privacy legislation. You can customise who sees your information, restrict access to specific providers, or cancel your record at any time.
By default, all registered healthcare providers (GPs, pharmacists, hospital clinicians) have "standing consent" to view and upload information. You do not need to give individual consent each visit, but you can restrict access at any time. Be aware that restricting access may limit your treating provider's ability to access information needed for your care.
My Health Record has clear rules for parents and legal guardians:
0–14 years old, a parent or legal guardian controls the child's record as Authorised Representative.
14–17 years old, a young person may choose to manage their own record. MBS, PBS & immunisation details not visible to guardians
18years+, all representatives automatically removed. Parents must be re-added as a Nominated Representative if access is still wanted.
If you don’t have a My Health Record, your results won’t be uploaded. You can register for one at any time through digitalhealth.gov.au.
If you decide later that you don’t want a report in My Health Record, you can delete it, hide it from view, or restrict who can see it using the privacy and access controls on My Health Record. Refer to the Australian Government’s website digitalhealth.gov.au for more details.
